About United Donor Day
UNTIL UNITED DONOR DAY
Did you know that only 40.7% of New York residents are enrolled as organ donors? Meanwhile, 9,100 New Yorkers are on the waiting list, hoping for a lifesaving match. We’re on a mission to change the poor enrollment rate in New York, and set the Guinness World Record for the most organ donor enrollments in 8 hours! We have declared December 1, 2020 United Donor Day. To beat the record, we need over 22,311 donors, but we’re hoping to go above and beyond! Be a part of history, and help save a life. Donors Unite!
Why December 1st? In 2017, Lee Green discovered he was in desperate need of a liver transplant. On December 1, he finally got the call that saved his life, a healthy liver from a donor. Grateful for this gift, he decided to pay it forward and change the New York enrollment rate. On United Donor Day, we will be celebrating Lee’s anniversary with a new world record!
Now, Lee needs YOU to make it happen. So spread the word, mark your calendar, and sign up for our newsletter. Then, on December 1, 2020, United Donor Day, register to become an organ donor via Donate Life NYS at our unique secure enrollment link. Anyone over the age of 18 can enroll, regardless of blood type, health status, gender, or religion.
